Bio
Based in London, Belzer recently graduated the Slade School of Art sculpture MA with distinction. Her practice is rooted in sculpture, drawing and installation, branching out to multimedia.
Having described her installations as “the skeletons of stories set on the edge of civilizations”, she is interested in the border and what lies beyond it, spaces that reverberate the nature of the civilizations they crest and reveal their inherent faults. Her practice examines the hollows that lie between separate entities and the friction that occurs at their point of contact.
Having spent her childhood between Los Angeles and an agricultural socialist community in the remote north of Israel, her art is influenced by experiences of transitions, contradictions, loss, adaptation and the quest for stability in movement.
